Job summary

AUTOKINITON is seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer to join the Operations team in Michigan. You will drive APQP documentation, PFMEA and Control Plans, and oversee customer concerns and corrective actions on quality issues.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in Quality Engineering, deep knowledge of AIAG Core Tools and IATF16949 standards, and strong root cause analysis skills to ensure continuous improvement and product reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 6 years' experience in Quality Engineering.
• Extensive knowledge of AIAG Core Tools.
• Experience creating & maintaining PFMEA and Control Plans.
• Experience with reviewing and submitting PPAP to customers.
• Working knowledge of APQP process.
• Experience with upholding IATF16949 standards.
• Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis and familiarity with tools such as 8-Discipline, DMAIC, 5-Why, Fishbone Diagrams.
• Understanding of GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Support internal as well as third party ISO: 9001:2015 Quality Management System audits and ISO-IATF 16949.
• Serve as main contact for external customer concerns. Monitor, respond, initiate corrective actions, follow up, close and track customer complaints.
• Drive implementation of all quality policies and required operating procedures and work instructions.
• Schedule and conduct meetings with customers, suppliers, and in-plant personnel.
• Ability to trouble shoot on the shop floor.

• This full-time, role is a part of our Operations team and reports to the Quality Manager.
