Job summary

AUTOKINITON is seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer to drive quality systems, document control, and customer issue resolution in our Michigan operations. You will lead PFMEA/Control Plans, support audits, and ensure adherence to AIAG tools and IATF16949 standards while collaborating across cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes process improvement, root-cause analysis, and APQP/PPAP activities to ensure durable supplier and product quality in our automotive components.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of AIAG Core Tools.
• Experience creating & maintaining PFMEA and Control Plans.
• Experience with reviewing and submitting PPAP to customers.
• Working knowledge of APQP process.
• Experience upholding IATF16949 standards.
• Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis with 8-D, DMAIC, 5-Why, Fishbone Diagrams.
• Understanding of GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Work with customers to obtain APQP documents (Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plans).
• Support ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 audits (internal and third-party).
• Serve as main contact for external customer concerns; monitor and initiate corrective actions.
• Drive implementation of quality policies and SOPs.
• Schedule and conduct meetings with customers, suppliers, and in-plant personnel.
• Ability to trouble shoot on the shop floor.

Sr. Quality Engineer

RESPONSIBLITIES

• Work with customers to obtain all necessary APQP documents including Process Flow, PFMEA, and Control Plans
• Support internal as well as third party ISO: 9001:2015 Quality Management System audits and ISO-IATF 16949
• Serve as main contact for external customer concerns. Monitor, respond, initiate corrective actions, follow up, close and track customer complaints
• Drive implementation of all quality policies and required operating procedures and work instructions
• Schedule and conduct meetings with customers, suppliers, and in-plant personnel
• Ability to trouble shoot on the shop floor

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 6 years' experience in Quality Engineering
• Extensive knowledge of AIAG Core Tools
• Experience creating & maintaining PFMEA and Control Plans
• Experience with reviewing and submitting PPAP to customers
• Working knowledge of APQP process
• Experience with upholding IATF16949 standards
• Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis and familiarity with tools such as 8-Discipline, DMAIC, 5-Why, Fishbone Diagrams
• Understanding of GD&T

This full-time, role is a part of our Operations team and reports to the Quality Manager.
