Job description

Overview

CSAT Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team. This role will focus on ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of laptops, main logic boards (MLB), and LCD assemblies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-driven, and passionate about continuous improvement in a high-paced technical environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, apply and maintain quality requirements of products during process design through production.
  • Perform statistical analysis of processes using trend charts, control charts, Pareto diagrams, and fishbone diagrams for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct rejection analysis and verification to provide feedback to Operations and Engineering for process improvement.
  • Provide special testing, process capability studies, repeatability studies and equipment correlations as required.
  • Prepare instructions and procedures for cross-functional teams in inspecting products for mechanical and aesthetic criteria, and for training purposes.
  • Work on New Product Project teams to ensure smooth transition of new products into the regular manufacturing process.
  • Consult with cross-functional teams to initiate product improvements.
  • Implement and facilitate continuous improvement activities across the business.
  • Recommend process and/or design improvements, including developing and maintaining new failure analysis methods, corrective action suggestions, material and component analyses, and change recommendations.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously; plan, organize and communicate status to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leverage industry trends to proactively identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Cross-train across business units in quality standards and methodologies.
  • Mentor engineers and others in quality methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and/or other quality system requirements in the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Education And Training
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required.
  • 5 or more years of demonstrated success in a similar position.
  • Proficient English abilities required.
  • Experience with email and written messaging with intermediate Excel knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of statistical process control and experimental design concepts.
  • Excellent knowledge of tools and methods related to inspection and analysis (prefer computer-based).
  • Proven experience in successful problem solving.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Preferred certifications: Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, CQE.
  • Preferred training and certifications: IPC-610, IPC7711/7721.
Working Conditions And Essential Abilities & Functions
  • Position is based at CSAT Solutions’ Houston facility.
  • Requires standing, walking, and working in a production/repair environment for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Regular exposure to electronic components, ESD-protected areas, and repair tools.
  • Standard Monday–Friday schedule with occasional overtime as required by business needs.
