Job summary

Syniverse is seeking a Sr Quality Assurance Engineer to design and develop QA management systems and automated test procedures that deliver exceptional user experiences for customers. You will define test requirements, automate tests, and verify components, systems, and applications before launches to ensure reliability and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

• 5 years using test automation frameworks (Cucumber, FitNesse, TestNG, Selenium).
• 5 years’ experience with Source Code Management (CVS, Git, SubVersion).
• 3+ years writing tests in Java and/or with JUnit development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.

Who We’re Looking For

As a Sr Quality assurance (QA) engineer you will be in charge of designing and developing the QA management systems and tools of the organization. Define test requirements and automate test procedures to help create and maintain an exceptional user experience for Syniverse’s customers.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs, while being cost-effective.

Scope of the Role:

• Direct Reports: This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports

Key Responsibilities

• Verify component, system integration and application level features and functionality to ensure our reliability, accuracy and performance reaches our standards for quality.
• Verify, deploy and maintain automated test cases.
• Contribute to existing tools, frameworks and related solutions.
• Improve our delivered product quality across our entire platform and applications.
• Assist with the team’s test effort from planning and organization to execution and delivery.
• Develop effective test strategies.
• Work with team members to keep testing at the forefront of our SDLC.
• Drive further adoption of unit/integration/system testing using cucumber and selenium or any other automation tool, metrics to monitor code coverage, bug prevention strategies, and other quality measures.
• Partner with Software Developers, Product Managers, and other Test Engineers to identify the components of the system to be automated.
• Duties and Requirements Specific to “Software Development Engineer in Test”: Plan, design, develop, verify, deploy and maintain automated test cases.
• Increase and improve our automated test coverage.
• Leverage new open source solutions to build new tools that test things in new ways.
• Write moderately complex code to test systems.

Experience, Education, and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field

• 5 years using test automation frameworks ie: Cucumber, FitNesse, TestNG, and Selenium

• 5 years’ experience with Source Code Management like CVS, Git or SubVersion

• 3+ years of experience writing tests in Java and/or JUnit development.
