Prinova USA is seeking a Senior Purchasing Manager in Carol Stream, IL to lead purchasing across assigned categories, optimize costs, and drive supplier performance. This role reports to leadership and collaborates with Sales, Operations, Product Development, and Finance to support profitable growth and risk management.

Ideal candidates will have strong leadership, analytical thinking, negotiation, and ERP experience, with at least 5 years in purchasing and a relevant degree.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of purchasing or equivalent relevant experience.
• Previous leadership experience managing teams and developing talent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead purchasing activities across assigned categories to optimize costs and ensure supply continuity.
• Partner with Sales, Operations, Product Development, Supply Chain, and Finance on strategic initiatives.

Sr. Purchasing Manager Department: Purchasing, Solutions Location: Carol Stream, IL Type: Full-time Summary: The Senior Purchasing Manager leads all purchasing activities across assigned categories while driving cost optimization, supply continuity, and supplier performance. The Senior Purchasing Manager partners closely with Sales, Operations, Product Development, Supply Chain, and Finance to develop strategic initiatives, mitigate risk, improve supplier relationships, and support profitable business growth. The role provides leadership and development to team members, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational requirements. Success in this role requires strong leadership, analytical thinking, negotiation, expertise, and the ability to drive continuous improvement across purchasing processes and supplier performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer service excellence.
• Liaise with multiple departments such as Sales, Product Development, Scheduling, and Warehouse personnel to ensure alignment of activities and objectives;
• Responsible for managing purchasing categories;
• Plan, organize, manage, and evaluate specific categories;
• Direct the development of formal and informal bids for categories managed;
• Responsible for managing Category Manager(s) and maintaining oversight of each manager's categories;
• Ensures all applicable legal and contractual provisions are met; directs and participates in the solicitation, evaluation, and award of bids; performs or assists others in the performance of price/cost analysis;
• Strong understanding of MRP, Inventory Control, and Work Order Management in a manufacturing environment;
• Inventory Management; stays within company goals for all inventory metrics;
• Provides monthly reporting to Director of Purchasing for measuring goal attainment as directed from company and department KPIs;
• Maintains rapport and good working relationships with suppliers;
• Works in collaboration with Sales and Product Development to understand business needs, global market insights, risks, and opportunities with external and internal customers;
• Continues to develop supplier performance metrics by measuring Supplier Scorecards;
• Espouses a positive and productive work environment;
• Demonstrates professionalism in all interactions with others;
• Stays abreast of trends and advances applicable to commodity responsibilities;
• Follows cGMP guidelines and processes as established in department SOPs;
• Will complete other duties as assigned

• Work environment is normally in an office setting. Must be able to make frequent rounds in a warehouse/production environment;

• Other physical requirements include moderate standing and occasional squatting, bending, and twisting;
• Ability to work around a variety of different smells and aromas;
• Ability to adjust work schedule as business needs require.
