Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Public Safety Officer responsible for routine safety and emergency security, protecting patients, staff, and visitors. You will respond to incidents, de-escalate confrontations, and serve as a training resource for colleagues and new hires.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least two years in security/public safety, and the ability to obtain and maintain certifications in firearms, taser, ASP baton, and Mental Health First Aid.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• 2 years in general security, military, or other public safety experience where to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty Required or
• an equivalence of training and job experience to support effective demonstration of responsible handling of weapons and use of force Required

Licenses and Certifications

• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Valid Driver's license & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire Required and
• IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer within 1 Year Required and
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening Upon Hire Required and
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed Upon Hire Required
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification Preferred
