Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a dedicated security officer to protect staff, patients and visitors. You will respond as a first responder to emergencies within the facility and participate in safety and security operations.

The role requires de-escalation of critical events and sound judgment when engaging with combative individuals, while following Piedmont safety policies. A GED/HS diploma and 2 years of security experience are required; firearms, Taser, baton, and Mental Health

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of general security/public safety experience or equivalent training.
• Driver License in-state and compliance with vehicle safety policy.
• Pre-employment psychological screening required.
• Certifications in Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton and Mental Health First Aid required.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• 2 years of experience in general security, military or other public safety experience where required to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty Required or


• equivalence of training and job experience to support effective demonstration of responsible handling of weapons and use of force. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire Required


• IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer within 1 Year Required


• Carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton Required


• Carry company issued firearm Required


• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening Required


• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed Required


• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification Preferred
