Job summary

LJA Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Transportation to provide technical and engineering support, develop Proposals and cost estimates, and lead the Project Management Team. This role focuses on advancing complex transportation projects and client relationships.

You will oversee project schedules, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams across offices and work sites, ensuring successful delivery and growth of the program portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer required.
• Program/Project Management experience required.
• Proven PM experience with deadlines and budgets.
• Strong client, agency, and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects of appropriate size and scope.
• Oversee schedules and financials for projects.
• Pre-sell future projects and grow the portfolio.
• Balance resources with Operations Manager/Engineering Director.
• Reward and develop the project team.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Sr. Project Manager at LJA Transportation, you will be responsible for Provides technical and engineering support, including technical proposals and cost estimates Overseeing the Project Management Team.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

• Managing projects of appropriate size
• Managing schedules and financials.
• Pre-selling a future project
• Balancing resources with Operations Manager or Engineering Director
• Rewarding your team

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer
• Program Management Experience
• Proven project management experience and handling multiple deadlines and budgets
• Effective communication skills to engage with clients, agencies, stakeholders, and employees fostering strong relationships

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Track record of winning FDOT work
• Track record of County and Municipal wins
• Previous work experience in an AEC related firm

IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:

• Experience with MicroStation ORD
• Experience with Large Scale FDOT Projects
• Advanced skills in specialized software programs
• Technical Training Experience
• Experience using CORSIM, HCS, Trans CAD, VISSIM, and AGI32 is a plus
• Proven experience in handling multiple tasks and deadlines
