LJA Transportation seeks a Project Engineer to provide technical and engineering support across transportation projects. You will perform systems analysis, planning, and design, ensuring work meets scope, schedule, and budget while leading project staff.

Ideal candidates bring a Civil Engineering degree, PE licensure, and FDOT project experience, with proficiency in relevant software tools and the ability to mentor others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, licensed PE.
• Experience with FDOT projects preferred.
• Proficiency in MicroStation ORD and software tools listed.
• Ability to lead multiple tasks and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform transportation systems analysis, planning and design.
• Assess feasibility based on data analysis and scope.
• Ensure performance aligns with schedule and budget.
• Oversee project staff performance and mentoring.
• Design traffic signal projects and related plans for FDOT and municipalities.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Project Engineer at LJA Transportation, you will be responsible for Provides technical and engineering support, including technical proposals and cost estimates

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

• Performs transportation systems analysis, planning and design.
• Determines feasibility of projects based on analysis of collected data.
• Responsible for performance to scope, schedule and budget.
• Responsible for performance of project staff.
• Manage and design traffic signal projects, signing, striping, illumination, ITS, and traffic control plans for FDOT, counties and local municipalities
• Oversee day to day operations of group including business development activities and project management responsibilities.
• Mentoring direct reports, and conveying knowledge to others
• Team lunches/breakfasts and social activities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer

IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:

• Experience with MicroStation ORD
• Experience with Large Scale FDOT Projects
• Advanced skills in specialized software programs
• Technical Training Experience
• Experience using CORSIM, HCS, Trans CAD, VISSIM, and AGI32 is a plus
• Proven experience in handling multiple tasks and deadlines
