Job summary

NV5 in Portsmouth, NH, is seeking a Sr. Project Manager for LNG engineering to lead complex projects from concept through commissioning.

Based in our LNG center, you will manage scope, schedule, and budget while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and clients nationwide; travel is required (10–15%). You will develop design strategies, review specifications, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in Oil & Gas, LNG, or heavy industrial sectors.
• 5+ years leading LNG/industrial projects from start to finish.
• Experience in cryogenic, natural gas, petrochemical, oil or power systems design.
• PE license is a plus.

This role is based in our Portsmouth, NH office and includes 10-15% travel to project sites located nationwide.

Responsibilities

What you will be doing

• Client relationship development and maintenance, project execution, schedule and budget management, project engineering oversight, project start-up, and project closeout.
• Responsible for developing, overseeing design, and managing all aspects of LNG projects including liquefaction, storage, truck transfer, and vaporization of LNG.
• Reporting to senior management and project teams on project status, budget, and schedule.
• Reporting to and holding meetings with Clients to review project updates.
• Review design, procurement, and operations specifications for equipment and systems.
• Field commissioning and troubleshooting support of LNG plant startup and operations.
• Coordination of internal and external resources throughout project, including team leaders, construction managers, and commissioning team.
• Reviewing calculations, equipment specifications, requisitions and drawings.
• Maintain technical proficiency and code expertise in the LNG field (49CFR193, NFPA 59A, ASME B31.3, BPVC Section VIII).
• Develop cost estimates and proposals in response to client requests.
• Development of drawings for fabrication and construction of plant piping and equipment systems in collaboration with the engineering and design team. This may include interdisciplinary work with civil, electrical, process, and controls project groups to optimize design.

Qualifications

We are seeking the following experience & qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years’ experience within Oil & Gas, LNG, or heavy industrial, 5+ years managing these types of projects from inception to completion.
• Experience in design of cryogenic, natural gas, petrochemical, oil, or power systems.
• Previous work specifying pumps, compressors, valves, heat exchangers, heaters, coolers, boilers, or pressure vessels.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.
