Job summary

SL Recruit is partnering with a well-established general contractor with active work across the DMV to find their next Senior Project Manager focused on interiors. If you thrive on tenant fit-out and interior renovation, you will own projects from pursuit through closeout, manage budgets and schedules, and lead client and subcontractor relationships on occupied sites.

This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a proven track record delivering commercial interiors on time

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Project Manager with a general contractor, with a strong focus on commercial interiors/tenant fit-out work.
• Proven track record managing interior renovation or fit-out projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Solid understanding of contract documents, means and methods, and project financials.
• Comfortable managing work in occupied buildings and coordinating complex phasing/logistics.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage owner and subcontractor relationships.
• Proficiency with standard project management and scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of interiors project execution, from preconstruction and buyout through construction and closeout.
• Own project budgets, schedules, and subcontractor relationships to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve design and constructability issues specific to occupied and tenant-fit-out environments.
• Lead project meetings, progress reporting, and client communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and contract documentation.
• Oversee site logistics, phasing, and safety compliance in coordination with field superintendents.
• Mentor project engineers/APMs and support project staffing.

About the Role

The Senior Project Manager will lead commercial interiors projects from preconstruction through closeout, managing budgets, schedules, and client relationships on tenant fit-out and interior renovation work throughout the DMV.
