Job description

Our clients look to SPC to provide them with a well‑managed construction process from pre‑construction through project closeout. As a Sr. Project Manager, you will ensure we create long‑term client relationships with industry‑leading companies.

Position Overview

As a Sr. Project Manager, you will lead the progress of each project from inception through completion by managing the team, coordinating stakeholders, and delivering high‑profile projects. You will mentor and develop junior project staff and participate in business development.

Responsibilities
  • Provide senior leadership and overall management of commercial construction projects, including corporate headquarters, creative office space, and building renovation projects across various industry sectors.
  • Oversee project segments: pre‑construction, project administration, scheduling, constructability & technical reviews, OAC & site meetings.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute projects from pre‑construction through close out and post‑construction services.
  • Lead project team staffing, presentations, and manage communication with clients, contractors, architects, engineers, and landlords.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates from conceptual or schematic level documentation.
  • Ensure quality, financial, and schedule goals are met and maintain policy compliance.
Key Qualifications
  • Solid understanding of building systems and processes with experience in high‑end commercial interiors and commercial building renovation.
  • Ownership of planning, coordination, and execution of projects across all phases.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal direction from senior management.
  • Mentor, coach, and train assistant project managers and project engineers.
  • Collaborate effectively with project team members (client, CM, architect, engineers, landlord, etc.).
  • Experience preparing detailed cost estimates from conceptual or schematic level documentation.
  • Lead members of the team in the pre‑construction process and formal presentation to client.
  • Accountable for quality, financial, and schedule goals of the end product.
  • Continuously develop and coach project staff.
  • Control productive output and policy adherence to company and project standards.
Education and Experience
  • 10+ years of experience with a commercial general contractor.
  • Experience managing a variety of projects in different phases of the construction process.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred; experience may be considered in lieu.

In accordance with California’s Labor Code Section 432.3, the base salary range for this position is $165,000 – $226,000. Compensation in other cities may vary.
