Job summary

gpac is seeking a Senior Project Manager to own high-level commercial construction projects in Michigan. You will drive strategy, execution and client relationships from preconstruction to closeout, overseeing budgets, schedules and procurement.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of PM experience with a GC, strong leadership, and proficiency in Procore and MS Office to manage complex, multi-project portfolios and ensure safety, quality and profitability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
• Experience with General Contractors.
• Experience managing complex projects or multiple projects.
• Strong knowledge of preconstruction, estimating, contracts, scheduling and closeout.

Responsibilities

• Own commercial projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, and procurement.
• Oversee project financials, forecasting, billing, cost tracking, and profitability.
• Lead coordination among owners, architects, engineers, subs, vendors, and field teams.
• Drive preconstruction efforts including estimating, constructability, and VE.
• Lead project meetings (OAC, kickoff, subcontractor coordination).
• Review plans and contracts, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project docs.
• Address challenges in design, schedule, cost, and contracts.
• Maintain relationships with owners and key stakeholders.
• Hold subcontractors and trade partners accountable for performance.
• Partner with Superintendents and field leadership.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to PMs, APMs and PEs.
• Ensure safety, quality, schedule and financial objectives.

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER - COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION

A respected and established construction organization is looking for a Senior Project Manager to take ownership of high-level commercial construction projects and play a key role in project strategy, execution and client relationships.

What You'll Do

• Take overall ownership of commercial projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, buyout and procurement
• Oversee project financials, forecasting, billing, cost tracking and profitability
• Lead coordination between owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors and field teams
• Drive preconstruction efforts including estimating, constructability, value engineering and planning
• Lead project meetings including OAC, kickoff and subcontractor coordination meetings
• Review plans, specifications and contracts while identifying potential risks and opportunities
• Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals and other project documentation
• Address project challenges involving design, schedule, cost and contractual requirements
• Maintain strong relationships with owners and key project stakeholders
• Hold subcontractors and trade partners accountable for performance and commitments
• Partner closely with Superintendents and field leadership throughout construction
• Provide leadership and mentorship to Project Managers, APMs and Project Engineers
• Ensure projects meet established safety, quality, schedule and financial objectives

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of commercial construction project management experience
• Proven experience working for a General Contractor
• Background managing complex commercial projects and/or multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong understanding of preconstruction, estimating, contracts, scheduling and project closeout
• Demonstrated ability to manage project financials, budgets and profitability
• Strong contract, subcontractor and change-order management experience
• Confident client-facing and leadership abilities
• Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Procore and Microsoft Office
