Compucom is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead M&A project initiatives, scope development, timelines, and Lean/Agile practices for plant-related infrastructure projects. The role directs cross-functional teams, mentors project staff, and manages large initiatives with a focus on delivery outcomes.

The Senior Project Manager will collaborate across departments, manage budgets, and ensure risks are mitigated while aligning with organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7-10 years of Project Management work experience.
  • 3-5 years Scrum Agile experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Draft project charters and align requirements with scope and sponsor.
  • Staff projects with resource managers; define team roles.
  • Develop detailed project plans including WBS, critical path, resources, and effort.
  • Establish project budgets for hardware, software and labor.
  • Create risk management and contingency plans; manage risks.
  • Lead execution: manage deliverables, schedules, budgets, and communications.
  • Maintain issue resolution and go-live support; document lessons learned.
  • Ensure sign-off on major deliverables and smooth transition to support.

Job Description

The Senior Project Manager will lead M&A Project initiatives by developing scope, timelines, and applying Lean/Agile practices, with a focus on plant-related infrastructure projects. Direct cross-functional teams; mentor project teams; and manage larger initiatives.

Preference to be based in Cleveland, OH area or Nashville, TN area
Responsibilities
Initiating and Planning
  • Draft the project charter; ensure requirements are aligned with the scope and approved by the sponsor
  • Work with resource managers to staff projects. Define and communicate roles for project team
  • Develop the project plan with direct input from stakeholders that details the work break down structure, critical path, resources, and effort. Ensure stakeholders are committed to the plan
  • Establish project budget; capital hardware, software, and labor; expense labor and non-labor
  • Develop communication strategies with key stakeholders
  • Develop risk management plans; identify risks and develop respective mitigation and contingency plans. Define the risk reserve and incorporate it into the project plan
Execution and Control
  • Manage employee, contractor, and supplier deliverables to ensure the project is completed on time per the schedule
  • Manage quality of the deliverables. Ensure all requirements have been validated (i.e., traceability matrix) and ensure the user acceptance tests have been developed, approved, and executed to successful completion prior to going live
  • Manage the project budget; track effort and green dollar spend; correlate actuals and forecast to the plan (burn rate)
  • Lead communications with key stakeholders. Monitor and report on schedule and budget variances. Ensure all communications related to implementation are completed
  • Document and drive issues through resolution; elevate to customer, supplier, and management as necessary
  • Continually manage risk to reduce the impact or likelihood
  • Develop and manage the implementation plan including production verification. Manage issues at go-live and through warranty period
Closure
  • Ensure sign-off on all major system deliverables by stakeholders
  • Ensure all invoices are received and processed
  • Ensure smooth transition to support
  • Lead and document lessons learned with all pertinent stakeholders, review missed estimates with resource managers
  • If a capital project, ensure CAR is closed
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a university/college degree. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • 7-10 years of Project Management work experience
  • 3-5 years previous Scrum Agile work experience (preferred)
Technical Knowledge
  • Expert-level role providing leadership on complex assignments/projects.
  • Intermediate to Advanced understanding of application(s) and/or IT Infrastructure.
  • May be a SME in one or more technologies
  • Understands project integrations and interdependencies.
  • Basic to Intermediate technical knowledge and solid understanding of computer hardware and software, data management, application programming, data communications, operating systems, utilities and data security
  • Advanced understanding of project budget management and experience managing internal and external labor budget for projects along with ability to manage third party invoicing for software or services for projects. Ability to understand and manage capital spend on project.
  • Ability to communicate and present project status to value chain leadership.

Wage Range

The annual starting salary for this position is between $114,000 - $135,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
