Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Project Architect & Design Manager in California (Los Angeles, Irvine, or San Francisco). The role blends architectural leadership with code expertise to ensure compliant, high-quality deliverables.

Hybrid in-office 2–3 days weekly, with travel to Northern or Southern CA construction sites as needed. Leads multidisciplinary teams across corporate, industrial, and transit markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture is required.
• Licensed Architect (California) is required.
• 20+ years of architectural experience.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and BIM workflows.
• Experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary design projects.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage design schedules.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Snr. Project Architect and/or Design Manager on medium-to-large projects across the West.
• Coordinate design development from concept through construction documentation and contract administration.
• Provide code analysis and compliance strategies during planning and development.
• Lead client presentations, design reviews, and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Oversee responses to RFIs, submittals, and site observations during construction.
• Mentor junior architects and ensure adherence to Jacobs’ Quality Program.
