Job description

Job Description

Join our Enterprise Planning & Delivery (EP&D) team within Finance, where we partner with leaders across the company to drive annual and long‑range planning, enterprise prioritization, portfolio management, and delivery of Nordstrom's most important strategic initiatives. Our team serves as the connective tissue between strategy, operating plans, execution, and financial results, providing the structure, governance, insights, and accountability needed to turn priorities into outcomes.

What to expect in this role:

As an Enterprise Planning and Delivery Senior Program Manager, you will lead our most complex, enterprise‑level programs end‑to‑end, driving execution and delivering results in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. You'll apply strong strategic and analytical skills to build the processes and tools that help senior leaders translate Nordstrom's strategy into executable operating plans (e.g., workstreams, owners, measurable goals), track progress against those plans, and identify and resolve interdependencies across the enterprise. You'll develop compelling presentations and recommendations that influence decision‑making at the highest levels. This role requires comfort with ambiguity, the ability to build strong cross‑functional relationships and influence without direct authority, and the confidence to communicate effectively with senior leaders. You'll also set program management standards and help develop the capabilities of others on the team.

This position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Planning & Delivery.

This role is Hybrid and requires you to be in office in downtown Seattle, WA 4 days per week.

A day in the life:
  • Own and lead enterprise‑level programs and projects from initiation through completion, accountable for scope, timeline, risks, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Connect enterprise strategy, operating plans, and financial outcomes by assessing investment trade‑offs, prioritizing initiatives, measuring financial impact, and providing insights that inform resource allocation and business decisions.
  • Build and run the operating planning processes, tools, and templates that connect strategic priorities, tactics, and operating plans, and track progress against them.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve interdependencies, risks, and trade‑offs across programs and functions in both the planning and implementation phases, escalating with clear recommendations when needed.
  • Develop high‑quality presentations and reports, and present confidently to senior and executive audiences.
  • Establish program governance, operating cadences, and KPIs that drive clarity, alignment, and accountability across stakeholders.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and navigate ambiguity with confidence, focusing on what matters most.
You Own This If You Have ...
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant Master's degree a plus.
  • 6+ years of experience in program or project management, management consulting, corporate strategy, finance, or operations, with a demonstrated track record of leading complex, cross‑functional, enterprise‑level initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (data analysis, modeling, pivot tables) and PowerPoint (executive‑level presentations), and experience with program management and collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, Smartsheet).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including model building and insight generation from a variety of data types and sources.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including experience interpreting financial performance, developing business cases, evaluating trade‑offs, and leveraging data‑driven insights to guide strategic investments, resource allocation, and operational decision‑making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven executive presence and the ability to influence senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain cross‑functional relationships and drive alignment across all levels of the organization without direct authority.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and focus on the things that matter versus less important details.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and change, and a proactive, results‑oriented mindset.
