Posting Summary: The Sr. Program Coordinator Supervisor serves as the CCR&R Quality Manager, a leadership role in the oversight and management of NJ Department of Human Services, Division of Family Development funded quality initiatives. The Quality Manager supervises all members of the Quality Team through reflective practices, using their knowledge of quality improvement rating systems, the NJ pre-school teaching and learning standards, the NJ Birth to Three Early Learning Standards, the Strengthening Families Protective Factors, best practices in family engagement and shared services as a strategic solution to complex concerns in the child care environment. The Quality Manger supports the CCR&R mission of serving as a resource to staff and early care and education providers in enhancing the quality of instruction and learning in child care programs across southern NJ. This is a grant funded position contingent upon the availability of funds to support it.

Grade: 05

Salary Details: Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, within university policy and salary schedules, as well as departmental budgets.

Minimum Salary: 71447.000

Mid Range Salary: 90435.000

Maximum Salary: 109422.000

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience: BA/BS degree from an accredited four-year college/university in early childhood education or related field (psychology, social work, or any other field related to child growth and development), or equivalent combination of education and/or experience with a minimum of five years of relevant experience. Experience managing a human services program.

  • Meet New Jersey Child Care Information System (NJCCIS) registry criteria.
  • Experience with administering structured classroom observation tools (ERS, CLASS, etc.).
  • Knowledge of NJ pre-school teaching and learning standards and NJ Birth to Three Early Learning Standards.
  • Familiarity with mentoring and coaching practices.

  • Possess computer proficiency to recommend and utilize a variety of computer software programs to successfully delegate, train, and complete assigned tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills to complete paperwork that is accurate, relevant, and timely.
  • Possess effective program improvement strategies to continually assess and implement quality enhancements that positively impact the Agency's operations and outcomes.
  • Knowledge of NJ State Licensing and Family Child Care registration regulations; and knowledge and understanding of cultural competence and inclusive practices.
Preferred Qualifications

The candidate must have a valid driver's license and dependable transportation as the work environment is split between the assigned office and field for site visits, community events, technical assistance and meetings.

Bi-lingual is preferred but not required.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with diverse providers.
  • Self-starter, independent and critical thinker.
  • Deep knowledge of the Early Learning field.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; sufficient communication/presenting skills.
