The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) is seeking a Sr. Product Owner to translate business objectives into actionable product epics that deliver value. This full-time remote position requires a Bachelor's degree and significant experience in agile environments, emphasizing collaboration with cross-functional teams and ownership of the product backlog.
The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Product Owner . This team member will t ranslate business objectives into actionable product epics that deliver measurable value. They will play a key role in advancing the NAIC product catalog, ensuring that each release aligns with strategic priorities and consistently delivers meaningful value to NAIC members.
We are looking for a team member who would enjoy working for an organization that strives every day to support the public good and make a difference. This is a full- time, remote position. Candidates must live within 100 miles of the Kansas City, Missouri office.
Define, maintain, and communicate the product vision and roadmap for the product portfolio.
Collaborate with Product Manager and cross-functional teams in product development and delivery.
Own, refine, and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with the product strategy.
Partner with engineering, Scrum Masters, and others to deliver high-quality features each sprint.
Gather, prioritize, and document business and user requirements with stakeholders.
Ensure product solutions meet member needs, business goals, and strategic objectives.
Monitor product performance and iterate on features to continuously improve value.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Centered Design, or a related field and 5+ years of experience within an Agile/SAFe environment, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar Agile certifications.
Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders or an equivalent combination of education and experience; advanced understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
Advanced experience with product management and road mapping tools.
Advanced data analysis experience and product performance tracking skills.
Advanced understanding of the technical aspects of the product.
Microsoft Office Suite/365, Slack, product management and road mapping tools.
Experience in insurance or regulatory environment.
Experience with user research and customer feedback tools.
Experience with managing the entire product portfolio.
Starting at $105,150 up to $130,000 to be commensurate with experience and education.
This position requires regular, out-of-state, overnight travel in support of member meetings and events throughout the year.
