The Role

We seek a Product Owner for our Casualty product team, managing enterprise-class, hosted solutions that serve thousands of end-users. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual interested in designing and developing modern software solutions for our applications and partners. Our Casualty solution automates and expedites the bill review process for insurance clients, utilizing various data sources and business rules.

This position can be remote within the central or eastern time zones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage product development, gather feature requests, schedule releases, and coordinate work to ensure timely delivery.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications, manage changes, and develop user stories and UML diagrams.
  • Groom and prioritize backlog, develop user stories, and define acceptance criteria.
  • Perform Scrum Master duties, including standups, retrospectives, sprint planning, and managing Azure DevOps boards.
  • Assist in business process redesign and documentation for new and existing technologies.
  • Prepare manuals, runbooks, and training documentation.
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize information to prepare status reports.
  • Conduct system testing for new products and fixes.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing with stakeholders.
  • Become a subject matter expert and demonstrate product capabilities.
  • Occasionally troubleshoot using SQL and review code and architecture.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5-8+ years of product ownership and business analysis experience in a custom software environment.
  • 5-8+ years of Scrum Master experience leading small teams.
  • 8-12+ years in the commercial software industry.
  • Knowledge of industry technological trends and innovative solution development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Visio, JSON, XML, and familiarity with AI applications.
  • Comfortable working independently, learning, and building expertise in the Casualty domain.
