Job summary

CMC provides an opportunity to contribute to the steel and construction reinforcement industries while gaining hands-on experience across shop floors, offices, and manufacturing facilities. You will be trained and supported by a team to excel in process improvement and performance optimization.

You will engage in daily shop-floor monitoring, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to drive efficiency and address deviations in production processes.

Qualifications

Strong communication and negotiation skills required.
Highly technical, detail oriented, organized and self-starter.
Willingness and ability to work hands-on in the shop with operators on flexible schedules.
Experience working with data queries and data management tools.

Responsibilities

Monitor shop performance and processes daily for operation within established parameters.
Determine causes for deviation and recommend corrections.
Provide reporting daily, weekly and monthly to document Mill performance against established KPIs.
Investigate and recommend process, procedure, training or equipment needs to continually improve performance.
Work with department and shift managers to optimize personnel and process execution for consistent performance and continuous improvement.
Work with Quality Assurance to monitor product quality and correct deviations.
Collaborate with Training to develop operator development classes.
Interact with company personnel resources external to plant about process performance and improvement.
Initiate communication with external resources for consistency and improvement initiatives.
Continuously assess infrastructure for optimization opportunities.

What You'll Do

Continuously assess the current and planned infrastructure for optimization opportunities

What You'll Need

Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal
Highly technical, detail oriented, organized and self-starter
Willingness and ability to work hands-on in the shop with operators on flexible schedules
Experience working with data queries and data management tools

Your Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline required.
