Job summary

CMC is seeking qualified individuals to support liquid process teams in a fast-paced steel manufacturing environment. The role involves operating mobile lifting equipment, replenishing Melt Shop consumables, and assisting in crane operations while maintaining safety and efficiency across shifts.

You will work in a dynamic setting, collaborating with teammates to resolve issues, perform inspections, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to learn quickly and multitask.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Overtime may be required; rotating shifts including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Participate in CMC Safety Programs and uphold safety culture.
• Replenish Melt Shop consumables.
• Operate mobile equipment as needed.
• Fill in as Scrap Crane Operator and Second Helper when required.
• Communicate production issues and needs to team.
• Ensure equipment inspection reports are completed every shift.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of methods and procedures.
• Maintain daily housekeeping in work areas.
• Troubleshoot problems using job knowledge and teamwork.
• Understand start-up, shutdown, and emergency procedures.

The individual supports the liquid process team in accordance with all company policies and standards with an emphasis on safety. The individual will operate mobile lifting equipment, and stand in at various positions when needed. The main focus of the individual will be to supply materials needed by the liquid and forming process areas during shift without any delay to the steelmaking operation.

What You’ll Do

• Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
• Replenish Melt Shop consumables
• Ability to operate mobile equipment
• Fill in as Scrap Crane Operator and Second Helper as needed
• Effectively communicate with others about possible production issues, concerns, and needs
• Ensure equipment inspection reports are filled out each shift
• Responsible for continuous improvement such as suggesting improvements in work methods and procedures
• Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area
• Troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others
• Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures
• Ability to stand for duration of shift; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shift

What You’ll Need

• Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with excellent strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Ability to work with exposure to extremes in temperature, chemical, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
• Basic computer skills
• Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
• Must be able to learn quickly and multitaskMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Some overtime will be required
• Work on a rotating shift which may include weekends and holidays

Your Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
