Job Overview

The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer is a hands-on position responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing equipment and processes to produce high-quality injection molded products. This role involves coordinating molding efforts during new program launches, setting up and revising manufacturing processes, and assisting with problem solving and continuous process improvement projects. Additionally, the engineer mentors and trains molding process setup technicians and factory maintenance personnel.

A Day In The Life

• Develop new processes and implement technical solutions to improve quality and equipment efficiency (OEE).
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to mold process technicians and other personnel.
• Maintain clear process documentation and provide daily technical support to manufacturing operations.
• Design, start-up, operate, and shut down process-related equipment; troubleshoot current production issues independently.
• Collaborate with vendors to resolve machine and material issues.
• Monitor and report on injection mold performance, recommending refurbishment based on production data.
• Interact with stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Support plant safety, environmental, and ergonomics initiatives.

• B.S. degree in Engineering; practical experience in molding operations or extensive training required, rubber/silicone experience preferred.
• Strong technical background in molding processing, tooling, equipment, and materials.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in CAD and computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Leadership ability, including indirect supervision of molding technicians.
