Job summary

Planet in Arlington, VA seeks a Pre-Sales Sr. Solutions Architect to design and demonstrate complex geospatial solutions for the US Defense and Intelligence community. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and travel up to 25%.

You will guide customers by recommending architectures, crafting tender responses, and shaping the technical strategy across accounts, while mentoring teammates and engaging with government stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 6+ years supporting US Defense & Intelligence in a technical capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Ability to travel up to 25%, including internationally.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with GIS/Remote Sensing in defense industry.
• Experience in IMINT, ISR, and related fields.
• Proficiency with geospatial software and programming tools.
• Ability to present complex systems bridging business problems and technology.
• Ability to lead technical customer engagements.
• Eligibility for US Government TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver solution demonstrations highlighting Planet’s data and services.
• Build relationships with customers’ technical staff as trusted advisor.
• Act as senior technical advisor to recommend suitable architectures.
• Craft responses to tenders, RFIs/RFPs, and proposals.
• Collaborate with sales to shape technical strategy across accounts.
• Assist with RFP/RFI prep and submissions with cross-functional teams.
• Meet quarterly and annual sales/ops objectives.
• Represent needs of Defense/Intelligence customers to Sales leadership.
• Present to executive Government stakeholders.
• Mentor team members and lead trainings.
