Job summary

Planet Labs seeks a Pre-Sales Senior Solutions Architect to design and present complex demonstrations of its geospatial data for US Defense and Intelligence customers, working with cross-functional teams in a hybrid Arlington, VA role.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in defense/IC environments, GIS experience, and strong communication skills, with up to 25% travel and eligibility for a TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years supporting the US Defense and Intelligence community in a technical capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Ability to travel, including internationally, up to 25%.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with GIS/Remote Sensing in the Defense sector is preferred.
• Experience with IMINT, ISR, and related fields.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver solution demonstrations highlighting Planet’s data capabilities.
• Build relationships with customers’ technical and management staff as trusted advisor.
• Recommend architecture that fits business challenges and budget.
• Craft technical responses to tenders, RFIs/RFPs, and proposals.
• Partner with sales to drive technical strategy across accounts.
• Collaborate with internal teams to voice customer needs and assist with RFP prep.
• Meet quarterly and annual sales and operational objectives.
• Present to executive US government stakeholders and provide customer feedback.
