About The Role

The Sr Plumber/Steamfitter position is to take the lead in performing a variety of maintenance repairs and installation/replacement of plumbing systems and fixtures including supply systems, DWV system, plumbing, heating, and steam fixtures/equipment. Assists in the work direction of other mechanics, trades helpers, and mechanics of other skilled trades.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

• Operate, maintain, repair, and install pipe systems, plumbing fixtures, heating fixtures, steam fixtures, regulator valves, and various system elements/appliances.
• Respond to plumbing trouble calls and requests within the facilities, using hand tools, pneumatic and hydraulic power tools, analyzing equipment, and testing instruments.
• Perform routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, and inspections on plumbing systems, equipment, and related systems.
• Install, repair, and maintain water, gas, oil, waste disposal, high-pressure steam, and hot water systems.
• Prepare, maintain, and submit requisitions for materials, work orders, records, and reports related to plumbing equipment/systems to the Supervisor.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

• Technical school diploma or equivalent knowledge plus six (6) years of experience in operation, maintenance, and installation of plumbing systems/equipment in educational, industrial, or healthcare settings. Knowledge of blueprint and schematic reading, and all applicable codes is required.
• Attention to detail and strong communication skills. Ability to work overtime.

Preferred

• New Jersey Black Seal Engineer’s License is preferred.

Compensation

The salary range is $34.58–$36.13 per hour, based on experience and qualifications, in accordance with New Jersey law.
