Job summary

Infotech seeks a Sr. Platform Engineer to accelerate delivery of web applications and infrastructure that power roads and transportation systems across North America. You’ll bridge engineering, IT, and cloud providers to keep deployments secure, efficient, and resilient.

You’ll partner with product teams to design a scalable AWS platform, build reusable tooling, automate CI/CD, and maintain consistent dev/test/prod environments while ensuring observability and strong security across accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in platform, DevOps, or infrastructure roles.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• In-depth IaC concepts and cloud infrastructure knowledge.
• Familiarity with databases and networking basics.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product teams to design a scalable, highly available AWS platform.
• Build and maintain self-service tooling and standardized environments.
• Automate CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure provisioning.
• Develop and maintain development/test/production environments.

As a Sr. Platform Engineer, you will build and support the automated, self-service foundation that takes software from integration and testing through release, deployment, and ongoing operation. By administering cloud-based platforms, you’ll serve as the liaison between engineers, IT, and external cloud providers, keeping deployments efficient, secure, and resilient.

What will you do in this role?

• Partner with product engineering teams to design and deliver a scalable, highly available platform on AWS for our interdependent products and services.
• Build and maintain reusable, self-service tooling and standardized environments that make it easier and faster for developers to build, test, and ship.
• Automate CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure provisioning using scripting, Infrastructure as Code, and AWS services.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain consistent development, test, and production environments that use resources efficiently across all commercial products.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability so we can see issues early, respond to alerts quickly, and keep service delivery seamless.
• Administer Linux-based systems and cloud networking, enforcing strong security across accounts, user permissions, and services.
• Keep systems healthy through backups, regular updates, and security patching, and monitor for vulnerabilities and intrusion.
• Identify risks in infrastructure designs and processes and communicate them to the right people, along with ideas for future improvement.
• Create clear technical documentation, and share new platform capabilities with product teams.
• Participate in after-hours maintenance and on-call troubleshooting when needed.

You must have

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field and 3 years of relevant experience; or a master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
