Job summary

Matrix Project Services is seeking a Sr. Scheduler to lead on-site project scheduling for EPC programs in Houston. The role emphasizes detailed planning, Primavera P6 development and maintenance, and earned value progress measurement.

The candidate will integrate multiple logic-tied EPC schedules, prepare progress analysis reports, and support construction management with accurate forecasts. Occasional home office visits may be required; 4-year degree preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of major project scheduling experience specifically in Primavera P6.
• Extensive experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office applications, as well as a working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
• Strong knowledge of and ability to progress project work activities using Earned Value Management methods.
• Thorough understanding of the nature of process systems and engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction planning & scheduling required.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• 4-year college degree, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains project schedules for EPC programs, integrating multiple logic-tied EPC schedules from project site.
• Supports Site Management through preparation and maintenance of schedule reports and progress analysis.
• Produces scheduling data and histograms summarizing all work for weekly and monthly reporting.
• Interfaces with other departments to provide scheduling data for change requests, bids, and new work item estimates.
• Provides supervision and on-the-job training to clerical and entry level personnel assigned to area of responsibility.

Job Summary

The Sr. Scheduler, as a key project management team member, will perform on-site project scheduling, which requires detailed planning efforts, Primavera P6 schedule development and maintenance, the review and application of earned value progress measurement techniques and technical knowledge of an EPC schedule project execution analysis and reporting.

Essential Functions

• Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its Core Values.

• Performs tasks required to develop and maintain project schedules, including the integration of multiple logic-tied EPC schedules from project site.
• Occasional home office visits may be required.
• Ability to follow site planning issues through to completion, involving all appropriate stakeholders.
• Supports Site Management through preparation and maintenance of schedule reports and progress analysis.
• Develops detailed construction schedules with the Project and Construction Management teams.
• Assembles scheduling data from a variety of sources including engineering, vendors/suppliers, subcontractors, or others.
• Manages other project interface schedulers.
• Provides scheduling, resource, and progress measurement reports in support of weekly and monthly reporting.
• Provides schedules and histograms summarizing all work.
• Supervises updating of construction forecast to reflect most current plans and requirements.
• Interfaces with other departments to provide scheduling data for items such as subcontract change requests, bid comparisons, new work item estimates and resolution of potential work schedule problems.
• Provides supervision and on-the-job training to clerical and entry level professional personnel assigned to area of responsibility.
• Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Qualifications
