Job Description
Position Summary:
To ensure in time deliveries for internal and external customers. To promote and ensure Logistics culture on the shop floor as well as within the whole supply chain.
Position Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain and improve information flow and ensure deliveries in the right time, to the right place, in the right quantity and quality and in the right condition.
- Create demands and/or production schedules for internal or external suppliers out of internal or external customer demands.
- Perform assigned product launch activities in corporation with internal and/or external suppliers or customers.
- Perform assigned activities in accordance with lean production principles and aim towards a total cost optimum.
- Develop, monitor, analyze, and/or improve KPIs for assigned logistics processes.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers and/or suppliers.
- Perform activities in coordination with other ZF departments related to process improvement, evaluation and documentation.
- Utilize information from internal/external customers, compare with parts/goods available and define production schedules and/or demands, while considering capacities available. Production schedules and/or demands must always reflect to the official production program of ZF.
- Communicate with customers daily to ensure parts/goods availability while keeping inventory within pre-defined levels.
- Serve as a liaison between customers, suppliers, and ZF while maintaining appropriate business conduct (values, demeanor, appropriate dress, etc.). This includes activities at internal and external facilities.
- Be the main contact for any issue regarding your parts/goods and customers (e.g. inventory inaccuracies, data flow errors, packaging shortages, etc.).
- Analyze root causes and define measures to ease the current issue and to improve the process for the future (following the principle of Continuous Improvements).
- Continuously improve delivery reliability to the customer (e.g. stabilizing procedures and processes).
- Coordinate changes of parts/goods numbers in a timely manner and together with other departments to minimize/eliminate excessive and obsolete inventory.
- Effectively respond and communicate in a timely manner with all customers, both internal and external.
- Follow internal guidelines and specific customer requirements as applicable.
- Assist in developing procedures and work instruction within the logistics department as needed.
- Participate in departmental meetings to aid in organizational planning, reaching objectives, and reviewing activities, results and policies.
- Follow all company and customer policies and procedures.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 0-3+ years’ experience in materials planning and/or customer planning in manufacturing environment.
- Two (2) years’ experience in Automotive Industry.
- Experience with an ERP system.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Good written and oral communication (e.g. presentations).
- Broad knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within supply chain planning.
- Experience with demand forecasting and/or planning methods.
- Demonstrate ability to multi-task, plan and problem solve.
