Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to bill and follow-up all Medicare claims until the accounts are adjudicated by the Medicare Administrative Center. The other major responsibility is to follow up on outpatient Medi-Cal and Medi-Cal managed care claims until they are paid-in-full.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $31.80 - $45.62 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 5 years experience in a hospital patient accounting setting strongly preferred. Current working knowledge of the Medicare and Medi-Cal programs in billing and follow-up mandatory.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision strongly preferred. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists strongly preferred. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions and percentages strongly preferred. Consistently performs job duties within required time frames while maintaining high degree of accuracy strongly preferred. Strives to carry out daily activities within appropriate ethical and legal standards in all relationships in accordance with Children's Hospital Code of Conduct.
