Monolithic Power Systems, Inc. in San Jose, CA is seeking a Patent Engineer to join the Intellectual Property Group. You will build and maintain the company’s patent portfolio and advise engineering, product, and business teams on IP strategy.

The role requires a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, USPTO admission, and 4–6 years’ patent experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, with a preference for a J.D. from an accredited law school.

• Master’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering.
• Admitted to U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
• 4–6 years’ experience with a law firm and/or corporation.
• Experience with preparation and prosecution of US patents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilidades

Job Description: Job Summary: We are looking to hire a Patent Engineer with excellent communication skills and the ability to explain, clarify and simplify complex technical information. As a member of MPS’ Intellectual Property Group and Legal department this person will work closely with other team members in building and maintaining MPS’ patent portfolio, and interacting with MPS engineering, product, and business groups to provide advice on all aspects of intellectual property.

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The base salary range for this position in California is $120,000 - $160,000.
