Job summary

Textron Systems in New Orleans, LA is seeking a Sr Painter for the 2nd shift. You will paint, sandblast, spray coat using conventional and airless equipment, and prepare surfaces in a marine and land systems context.

Responsibilities

• Painting, sand blasting, spray painting using conventional and airless equipment.
• Pulling blast/paint lines, mixing paint, pressure washing, surface preparation and coating.
• Perform equipment maintenance and follow engineering drawings.
• Maintain records, forms and logs; work extended hours as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management; work in confined spaces.

About This Role

We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for:

A Sr Painter’s primary area of expertise is painting, but under general supervision they are expected to perform any tasks assigned by management based on business needs.

Job Responsibilities:

• Job duties include but are not limited to painting, sand blasting, spray painting using conventional and airless equipment, pulling blast/paint lines, mixing paint, pressure washing, preparing surface for application of coatings and specialty cleaning.


• Performs equipment maintenance


• Utilizes hand tools such as psychrometer, profile and mil gauge, disk sander, wire brush, grinders, scaling gun, needle nose, crescent wrench, and pliers in the performance of the job.


• Must be able to work from Engineering drawings, sketches and follow written and verbal instructions.


• Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours as needed to accomplish the task or work with little or no prior notification.


• Maintain records, forms and logs as required.


• Perform other related duties as assigned by management


• Preforms work in confined spaces.

Education Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent experience.
