Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking a Senior Painter for the First Shift in New Orleans as part of its Marine & Land Systems business area. The role focuses on painting, surface prep, and maintaining coatings, with exposure to blueprints and engineering drawings.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, 3+ years of related painting experience, and the ability to read blueprints. Rotating shifts and extended hours may be required.

About This Role

We believe people should love what they do — in this role, you will be responsible for:

A Sr Painter’s primary area of expertise is painting, but under general supervision they are expected to perform any tasks assigned by management based on business needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Job duties include but are not limited to painting, sand blasting, spray painting using conventional and airless equipment, pulling blast/paint lines, mixing paint, pressure washing, preparing surface for application of coatings and specialty cleaning.
• Performs equipment maintenance
• Utilizes hand tools such as psychrometer, profile and mil gauge, disk sander, wire brush, grinders, scaling gun, needle nose, crescent wrench, and pliers in the performance of the job.
• Must be able to work from Engineering drawings, sketches and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours as needed to accomplish the task or work with little or no prior notification.
• Maintain records, forms and logs as required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

• High school graduate or equivalent experience.

• Must be willing to work rotating shifts.
