Job summary

Central Transport in Norcross, GA is seeking an operations leader to oversee outbound freight for a 150-door facility. You will manage loading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight while coordinating up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production goals.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, excellent communication, and a technology-driven mindset, with experience in transportation or cross-docking, and a degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Use independent judgement to build loads based on labor and freight levels.
• Ensure trailer cube/weight loads meet requirements and safety standards.
• Provide leadership and accountability to drivers, dock workers, and dock hands.
• Monitor dock production and KPI performance; manage hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with DOT/OSHA standards.

Salary:

Up to $75,000 + quarterly bonus (10%)

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
• Familiar with customs and cross-border transportation
• Strong leadership qualities
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee outbound operations within a 150-door freight facility for your designated section of the dock.
• This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
• Utilizing your independent judgement to build loads based on available labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
