Job summary

Shermco Industries is seeking a Sr. Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, lead technical field service teams, and drive continuous improvement across two locations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • MBA strongly preferred for advanced financial, operational, and strategic acumen.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Proven experience managing a P&L of at least $15M.
  • Experience in power services, engineering services, manufacturing, or electrical industry.
  • Executive-level communication and board-level reporting.
  • Operational metrics, forecasting, and strategic planning expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations for technical field service teams, ensuring compliance with NETA standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Drive operational excellence through continuous process improvement, workforce optimization, and deployment of technology solutions.
  • Lead multi-site operations with accountability for service delivery, utilization, productivity, and quality metrics.
  • Own and manage a P&L of at least $30M, ensuring strong financial performance, margin growth, and cost optimization.
  • Develop and execute strategic operating plans aligned with corporate objectives and market opportunities.
  • Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions to ensure profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams across technical and business functions.
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and safety.
  • Partner with HR to drive workforce planning, succession development, and talent acquisition strategies.
  • Foster relationships with key customers, ensuring high satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Partner with Business Development and Sales to identify and pursue new growth opportunities.
  • Represent the organization in industry forums, associations, and client engagements.
  • Ensure full compliance with NETA standards, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Mitigate operational, financial, and safety risks through robust controls and governance.

Job description

Additionally, our Professional Engineering Group, Rotating Machinery Division, Renewable Energy Services, and Field Repair and local Repair Service Centers, places Shermco in a position to handle all things electrical, all done with an emphasis on safety and client service. Shermco Industries is a founding member of NETA and has one of the largest field services divisions in the industry.

SUMMARY

The Sr. Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company. This includes managing staff, ensuring that all processes are running smoothly, and identifying areas for improvement. The Regional Operations Manager will work closely with other departments to ensure that the company is meeting its goals and objectives. This location is $25M in revenue with a staff of 80 employees across two locations and 4 service offerings.
