Job summary

MasterApp Labs LLC in Mechanicsville, VA is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for an onsite contract role. You will manage and troubleshoot enterprise routers, switches, VPNs, firewalls, and wireless access points while coordinating with IT suppliers to ensure accurate configurations.

The position requires strong documentation skills, IP topology, and firewall rule management. You will collaborate with cloud/DevSecOps teams to optimize hybrid connectivity and SD-WAN implementations.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise routers, switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Certifications such as CCNA or JNCIA are strongly preferred.
• Ability to document network topology, IP schemes, firewall rules, and access controls.
• Experience with SD-WAN and cloud networking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure including routers, switches, VPNs, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Troubleshoot network issues impacting application performance and uptime.

Title: Sr. Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Considerable knowledge and working experience with enterprise routers, switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, wireless access points, and load balancers (including the ability to document, set up, configure, upgrade, manage, and troubleshoot)
• Be capable of troubleshooting Network related infrastructure.
• Identifies and diagnoses system problems by using line monitors, diagnostic software, test equipment.
• Works closely with agency’s IT infrastructure suppliers and stakeholders to gather requirements, specifications, and configurations to assure they are accurate and up to date.
• Responsible for assisting in troubleshooting and resolving network issues impacting application performance and uptime.
• Assist in overseeing the installation, documentation, and upgrades of various agency facility data network infrastructure.
• Will oversee and collaborate with cloud and DevSecOps teams to optimize hybrid connectivity and SDWAN configurations.
• Must have the ability to provide documentation, network architecture topology diagrams, IP schemes, firewall rules, and access controls when required.
• Must have the ability to work independently on assigned projects.
• Must have minimally obtained an industry standard networking certification (example: Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA- Junos, etc.)
