Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise routers, switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, and wireless APs.
• Hands-on experience configuring, upgrading, and troubleshooting routers/switches and WAPs.
• Design, install, and troubleshoot local- and wide-area enterprise networks.
• Engineering experience in networking with design focus.
• Experience monitoring IT for compliance with security policies and standards.
• Ability to create repeatable, scalable network architectures with fault tolerance.
• Experience in documenting network topology, IP schemes, firewall rules, and access controls.
• Familiarity with SD-WAN and cloud networking desirable

• The Client is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer (Sr NE) to implement and provide support to the agency’s IT Network infrastructure.
• The Sr NE performs day-to-day activities related to the support, documentation, research, analysis, and implementation of Network related infrastructure.
• Candidate must have in-depth, considerable knowledge and hands-on experience understanding, documenting, and maintaining Network related infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Considerable knowledge and working experience with enterprise routers, switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, wireless access points, and load balancers (including the ability to document, set up, configure, upgrade, manage, and troubleshoot)
• Be capable of troubleshooting Network related infrastructure.
• Identifies and diagnoses system problems by using line monitors, diagnostic software, test equipment.
• Works closely with agency’s IT infrastructure suppliers and stakeholders to gather requirements, specifications, and configurations to assure they are accurate and up to date.
• Responsible for assisting in troubleshooting and resolving network issues impacting application performance and uptime.
• Assist in overseeing the installation, documentation, and upgrades of various agency facility data network infrastructure.
• Will oversee and collaborate with cloud and DevSecOps teams to optimize hybrid connectivity and SDWAN configurations.
• Must have the ability to provide documentation, network architecture topology diagrams, IP schemes, firewall rules, and access controls when required.
• Must have the ability to work independently on assigned projects.
• Must have minimally obtained an industry standard networking certification (example: Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA- Junos, etc.)

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Considerable knowledge and hands-on working experience with enterprise routers, switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, and wireless access points. Required
• Considerable hands-on working experience setting up, configuring, upgrading, managing and troubleshooting routers/switches, and WAPS. Required
• Demonstrated and hands-on ability to design, install and troubleshoot local-area and wide-area enterprise networks. Required
• Considerable direct hands-on experience engineering and design experience in networking industry required. Required
• In-depth experience designing installing and troubleshooting local-area and wide-area enterprise networks. Required
• Experience monitoring IT environments for compliance with information security, architecture policies, and standards. Required
• Experience creating repeatable, reliable, scalable network architectures with fault tolerance. Required
• Experience performance tuning, monitoring systems, statistics/metrics collection, and disaster recovery. Required
• Experience creating network diagrams using industry standard tools such as Visio, etc. Required
• Experience with networking features and protocols such as: ARP, CDP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, VTP, Etherchannel, HSRP, QoS, multicast, IPsec, etc Required
