Job description

Job Title: Senior Team Leader of Sales – Walmart and Sam’s Club

As a key leader and member of the Mission Foods Sales Leadership Team, the Sr. Team Leader of Sales – Walmart and Sam’s Club is responsible for customer management, planning, and the field execution of strategic and operational initiatives to profitably grow Mission Foods' business. Reporting to the VP of Sales, National Accounts, this role involves developing strategies for sustainable success, delivering sales and margin growth, fostering market and customer relationships, and coordinating company selling strategies to meet annual goals. The position provides direct leadership to a team of 2 and manages Mission’s NW Arkansas office. The role also includes leading the integration of retail execution with field sales teams, including District, Area, and Division Sales Managers, as well as retail service brokers where applicable.

  1. Achieve financial objectives such as sales, profitability, market share, and P&L contribution to support overall company growth.
  2. Develop and strengthen strategic customer relationships through Joint Business Planning and enhance connectivity with senior leaders via Top-to-Top meetings.
  3. Lead and coordinate efforts across cross-functional teams, including onsite and headquarters staff, to meet company objectives.
  4. Support corporate planning, analysis, and budgeting, developing a 1-3 year sales plan for the account.
  5. Implement strategic merchandising plans and activities to meet annual objectives and uphold Mission Foods' standards.
  6. Prepare and deliver account presentations using sales, marketing, syndicated, and account-specific data such as Retail Link and Nielsen IQ.
  7. Identify new business opportunities and deepen existing customer relationships through headquarters calls to support corporate strategies.
  8. Manage account promotional plans, analyzing post-promotional results to ensure ROI.
  9. Monitor market trends and account performance to identify opportunities and threats, sharing insights to allocate resources effectively.
  10. Foster a collaborative, respectful work environment.
  11. Travel approximately 30% of the time.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field; Master’s degree/MBA preferred.

Minimum 12 years of related consumer product sales experience, including national headquarters sales and broker management; experience with Walmart/Sam’s Club is strongly preferred.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to inspire and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to develop and execute comprehensive business strategies.
  • Proficiency in P&L management, financial analysis, market research, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Customer relationship management and influence skills.
  • Ability to drive growth and change through continuous improvement techniques.
  • Flexible and responsive to evolving business priorities.
