National Account Manager, West Grocery, Hu

Our Hu and Enjoy Life brands within Mondelēz International are seeking a passionate sales leader to drive growth in the conventional grocery – West channel for Hu Products. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the CPG sales process in large conventional grocery accounts, particularly Albertson’s, with existing relationships with key decision makers and a proven track record of exceeding sales goals. This remote position reports to the Sr. National Account Manager – Mass.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Sr. National Account Manager to develop and implement sales strategies aimed at penetrating West Conventional grocery customers.
  • Execute channel strategies to meet or exceed annual revenue targets.
  • Identify and establish new accounts, focusing on segments such as Albertson’s, Safeway, HEB, Hy-Vee, and Meijer.
  • Enhance relationships with partners to maximize in-category opportunities, including pricing, promotions, POS campaigns, SKU mix, and shelf placement.
  • Partner with trade and marketing teams to support account growth and velocity.
  • Plan, organize, forecast, and manage promotional and trade spend initiatives in conjunction with the Trade Marketing and Operations teams.
  • Ensure high customer service levels by working closely with the Operations team.
  • Leverage brokers and distributors to support channels aligned with Hu’s mission and values.
  • Provide feedback on trade and competitive analysis to inform product development and adaptation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • At least 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years managing Albertson’s; experience with HEB, Hy-Vee, and Meijer is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of the grocery channel landscape at all levels.
  • Proven success as a top-performing salesperson and leader in the CPG industry.
  • Experience developing impactful sales strategies and fostering broker partnerships.
  • Knowledge of distributor relationships (e.g., UNFI, KeHe).
  • Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and storytelling skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills with a growth mindset.

The salary range is $117,400 to $161,425, based on experience and other factors. The role includes a competitive bonus program and comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, wellness programs, retirement plans, paid leave, and more. No relocation support is provided.
