Job summary

Syensqo is seeking a Sr. Multi-Craft Mechanic to operate equipment safely and independently, with the ability to perform all duties from lower maintenance classes.

You will follow HSE, Responsible Care, and environmental rules, participate in safety programs, and read schematics and SOPs. This onsite role is based in Orange, CA, and requires U.S. citizenship or a green card.

Qualifications

• Must qualify as a Multi Craft Sr.
• Must qualify as a Sr. Mechanic.
• Must qualify as a Sr. Electrician.
• Must be willing to perform all jobs from lower classes within maintenance.
• Reading and following procedures in English.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and independently with minimal supervision.
• Perform all Sr. Multi-Craft Mechanic functions and duties.
• Ensure work aligns with HSE, Environmental and Safety rules.
• Read schematics and manuals; use measuring devices to check specs.
• Participate in safety programs and incident investigations when required.
• Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to PPE requirements.

We are looking for:

• A Sr. Multi-Craft Mechanic that will be responsible for operating equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Performs all Sr. Multi-Craft Mechanic’s functions fully and independently with minimal supervision.
• The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Must qualify as a Multi Craft Sr.
• Must qualify as a Sr. Mechanic.
• Must qualify as a Sr. Electrician
• Must be willing to perform all jobs from lower classes within the maintenance department

• Ensure all work is to be performed in accordance with the Responsible Care EMS - Environmental Management System (ISO 14001)
• Intervene and take appropriate actions on any non-conformance, possible non-conformance, or concerns affecting 1) compliance with any known legal, regulatory or company requirement, 2) Safety, Health, Environment & Security (HSE&S) policies, procedures, or other management system requirements, and/or 3) expectations or needs of other interested parties, and communicate it using the appropriate company process.
• Ensure the HSE&S, Responsible Care management Systems requirements are integrated into their organization’s business structure and processes and achieve intended outcomes.
• Promote an observable culture of process safety, product safety/stewardship and customer service within their organizational control.
• When requested, participate in the development, communication, and implementation of HSE&S and Responsible Care programs.
• Communicate and follow up as required on any HSE&S concerns, incidents, near misses, or opportunities for improvement using the appropriate company process.
• When requested, lead, participate and/or provide resources for Employee Safety Committee (ASC), Safety Meetings, Incident/Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations, Management of Change (MOC), Process Safety Startup Review (PSSR), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and other related HSE&S, process safety, and customer service activities.

Must follow all MSOP & Plant Safety Rules:

• Use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• PPE required in this area are KEVLAR GLOVES, LATEX GLOVES, FULL FACE RESPIRATOR, HALF FACE RESPIRATOR, DUST MASKS, & EAR PLUGS. TYVEK Suits are also available for PROTECTION.

You will bring:

• Must qualify as a Multi- Craft Mechanic
• Must practice good housekeeping habits.

• Able to use basic hand and power tools. (Safely).
• Must work from schematics, sketches, and manuals.
• Must be familiar solid state devices.
• Proper use of measuring devices.
• Meggers, DVOM.
• Must be familiar with class 1 div. 1 & 2 codes.
• Able to take verbal directions
• Understand written procedures
• Understand Physical and Quality Requirements
• Ability to read and follow Standard Operating Conditions (S.O.C.), Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P.), etc.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, techniques for effectively manufacture goods
• Knowledge of machines and tools required at each task
• Controlling operations of equipment or systems
• Watches gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
• The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions
• The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly
• Assessing the value, importance, or quality of things or people
• Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources
• Must be able to read, write and speak English
• Complete all required Training:
• Departmental Safety
• Department’s reading requirements
• Department Task Training captured on 7 – Step Training Plan
• On the job training

You will get:

• Competitive salary and benefits package. The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $45.07 per hour. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
