Fleet Services is currently hiring a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician.

The Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and advanced repairs, advanced mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. Heavily relied upon for advanced diagnostics and triage of complicated repairs by Mobile Diesel Technician I/II. Considered the Lead on jobsites by customers and Technicians. Functions as a consultant on the customer's behalf. A successful Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician complies with all company policies and achieves high-level performance metrics.

DUTIES:

1. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (“PM”), DOT Inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
2. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to, Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
3. Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to, the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
4. Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
5. Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and to ensure they are working properly.
6. Identify problems, determine the accuracy and relevance of information, using sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives.
7. Manage parts inventory and equipment independently, performing periodic reconciliation.
8. Maintain and operate company-issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and pre-/post-trip inspections.
9. Work effectively with clients and customers to assess needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems, or satisfy expectations.
10. Manage concurrent tasks, prioritizing work activities and time effectively.
11. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
12. Document work according to company standards, upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and observations on Repair Orders (“RO”) using company-issued iOS device and proprietary TRAIT application.
13. Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and promptly.
14. Work independently, managing your daily schedule.
15. Maintain high productivity and work within or close to standard repair times.
16. Obtain parts from approved vendors as necessary for repairs.
17. Communicate with management and support teams via email or phone for approvals, purchase orders, and notes.
18. Perform all work following safety, health, environmental policies, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
19. Maintain company-issued service truck, conduct safety checks, and daily pre-/post-trip inspections.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for the job.
3. Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
4. Obtain 608/609 certification within 18 months.
5. Pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and physical.
6. Possess a valid DOT medical card with more than four months remaining, or be able to obtain one.
7. Be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce regulations.
8. Have a valid driver’s license, with a clean 3-year MVR review, and be eligible to drive per DOT requirements.
