Job Summary
The Sr. Mgr, Manufacturing supports Manufacturing Operations by calculating equipment, process, and labor capacity; determining tooling and maintenance needs; developing layouts; providing engineering, tooling, and maintenance services; and managing staff. Responsible for implementing sustainable processes and measuring results to ensure consistent quality and production levels. Collaborates with other engineering disciplines and global teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the site Manufacturing/Project Engineering Department to align with company and site strategies, including growth initiatives.
- Enhance manufacturing engineering knowledge through training, publications, networking, benchmarking, and professional societies.
- Develop strategic manufacturing plans based on market and product objectives, including capacity and layout planning.
- Manage plant and capital projects, document work, and maintain project records.
- Lead initiatives for equipment and process improvements to enhance performance.
- Implement waste elimination strategies using lean principles and best practices.
- Provide engineering guidance to optimize plant machinery and processes; participate in continuous improvement teams.
- Maintain ownership of equipment and processes.
- Collaborate with global teams and SMEs to ensure process alignment.
- Lead validation activities, including equipment and process validation, to ensure quality and cost efficiency.
- Research and analyze technical data for feasibility and application.
- Assist with installing new products and tooling; investigate and resolve tooling and process issues.
- Provide engineering support for plant operations and continuous coaching to team members.
- Participate in Design for Manufacturing reviews, analyzing drawings and models for manufacturability.
- Conduct operational studies to improve cost effectiveness.
- Collect and analyze manufacturing data to identify trends and improvements.

Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field required; Master’s preferred.
Work Experience
- Minimum 10 years in a technical engineering role, including experience with equipment design, procurement, FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ.
- Experience in pharmaceutical/biotech or medical device manufacturing required.
- Project management experience in a cGMP environment preferred.

License and Certifications
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred upon hire.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt within 1 year required.
Travel and Physical Requirements
- Travel up to 10%, approximately 26 days per year.
- Light exertion, up to 20 lbs frequently.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
- Specific vision abilities required.
