Responsibilities

We seek a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a distributed team focused on expanding CodeQL. Your responsibilities include:

• Maintaining detection support for multiple languages, including building extractors, writing queries, and evaluating LLM-powered detection engines.
• Developing the QL query language, its compiler, and evaluator to enhance analysis capabilities and scalability.
• Developing tools like the CodeQL CLI and integrating CodeQL into various CI systems and IDEs.
• Coaching and developing your team, influencing product direction, and engaging with users to ensure success and foster a culture of safety and learning.

Qualifications

Required

• 6+ years in software engineering or related fields, with experience in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work East Coast hours.
• 1+ year of leadership experience.
• 2+ years in areas like software security, developer tools, or machine learning applied to source code.

Preferred

• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience leading distributed teams and working across multiple stakeholders.
• Knowledge of compiler design, program analysis, or query languages.
• Experience with CI/CD integrations.

Compensation Range

USD $112,800 - $299,300 per year, based on experience and location, with additional benefits and incentives.
