Job summary

SOPHiA GENETICS Finance team seeks a Sr Mgr/Director of Revenue Accounting to lead global revenue recognition, SEC filings, and policy governance for IFRS 15 and related standards.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Controller, you will own monthly close for revenue, partner with auditors, and drive SOX controls while guiding cross‑functional teams across multiple entities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA candidate preferred or active certification.
• 10+ years in public accounting with publicly traded clients.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP.
• Experience with SOX and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Own design, implementation, and governance of revenue accounting policies and controls.
• Manage monthly close for revenue, journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Serve as the revenue recognition SME for complex transactions.
• Build and maintain SOX controls and policies; engage external auditors.
• Draft technical accounting guidance and lead cross-functional projects.

Your Mission

Reporting to the Senior Finance Controller theSr Mgr/Director of Revenue Accountingwill play a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting for our global operations. You will lead SEC filings, support the consolidation process across entities, and maintain robust accounting policies and internal controls. Additionally, you will draft technical accounting guidance, partner with external auditors, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects as needed.

• Own the design, implementation, and ongoing governance of global revenue accounting policies, systems, controls, and procedures in compliance with IFRS 15 and related standards.
• Responsible for monthly close processes for revenue, including journal entries, account reconciliations, true ups, and variance analysis
• Serve as the enterprise subject matter expert for revenue recognition, providing authoritative guidance on complex and non routine transactions.
• Build and maintain SOX compliant internal controls, policies, and SOPs.
• Serve as the primary contact for external auditors for revenue related matters

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA candidate preferred
• 10+ years of experience in public accounting serving publicly traded clients and public company work experience
• Strong knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP
• Biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industryexperience preferred
• Experience with SOX 404 and internal controls over financial reporting
• Project management including consistently establishing and meeting timelines
• Capable of working cross-functionally and managing multiple priorities
• Experience Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
