Sr Medical Screener - Reception Technician (Customer Service)

Join to apply for the Sr Medical Screener - Reception Technician (Customer Service) role at CSL.

Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting registration procedures to qualify donors for plasma pheresis.

Responsibilities

1. Assist qualified donors in completing screening procedures, including health history assessment, medical questions, and health screening tests such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature, and finger stick for hematocrit and protein levels.
2. Educate donors on the use of therapeutic plasma products, screening process, tests, appointment system, fees, policies, nutrition, and other relevant information.
3. Register applicants and transfer donors as trained and needed.
4. Answer phone inquiries and provide information.
5. Monitor donors during and after pheresis for reactions and notify staff if needed.
6. Calibrate and troubleshoot equipment, document incidents, and manage equipment issues.
7. Provide guidance and training to staff as required.
8. Report donor flow issues to supervisors.
9. Record donor data accurately in the electronic system.
10. Understand policies related to hyper immune programs if applicable.
11. Maintain a clean work environment and ensure supplies are available.
12. Follow HSE and OSHA policies, promote safety, and conduct audits.
13. Maintain confidentiality of all information.
14. Cross-train in other areas as needed.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 months experience in clerical or customer service roles, preferably in medical or health environments, or equivalent education/experience.
• Basic math skills.

Working Conditions

• Ability to follow instructions and communicate routine information.
• Visual and verbal communication skills.
• Stand and walk frequently; reach, bend, kneel, manual dexterity.
• Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Fast-paced environment with exposure to chemicals, temperatures, blood-borne pathogens.
• Wear PPE as required; work overtime and extended hours.
