Job Description
Job Summary

Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting registration procedures to qualify donors for plasma pheresis.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist qualified donors in completing screening procedures, including health history assessment, medical questions, and health screenings such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature. Perform finger sticks for hematocrit and protein levels.
  2. Educate donors about therapeutic products, screening process, donation fees, policies, nutrition, and answer questions professionally.
  3. Register applicants and transfer donors as trained.
  4. Answer phones and provide information to callers.
  5. Monitor donor reactions during/after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
  6. Calibrate equipment daily and troubleshoot issues.
  7. Create incident reports and manage equipment service.
  8. Provide guidance and training to staff as needed.
  9. Notify supervisors of donor flow issues.
  10. Accurately record donor data in electronic systems.
  11. Understand policies related to hyperimmune programs.
  12. Maintain a clean work environment and ensure supplies are stocked.
  13. Follow all safety and health policies, conduct audits as needed.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of all information.
  15. Cross-train in other areas as needed.
  16. Bilingual skills may be required.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 18 months experience in clerical or customer service, preferably in healthcare.
  • Basic math skills.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to see, speak with customers, and observe equipment.
  • Stand and walk up to 100% of the time.
  • Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Fast-paced environment, exposure to chemicals, extreme temperatures, blood-borne pathogens.
  • Wear PPE as required.
  • Work overtime and extended hours as needed.
