Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitations at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries — AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have produced the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and aim to put a diamond behind every chip. As a profitable unicorn with $515m in funding, we are executing a multi-billion-dollar expansion plan to convert greenhouse gases into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy.

We are seeking an ambitious senior mechanical engineer responsible for designing equipment and facility systems, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams. You will manage entire projects, leveraging the expertise of others as needed.

Responsibilities

1. Design, build, test, and optimize systems for high-volume vacuum manufacturing equipment
2. Prototype and integrate new system functions to improve existing equipment
3. Manage multiple suppliers to ensure timely and budget-compliant construction of parts and assemblies
4. Communicate effectively, conveying complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders

Requirements

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience
2. Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks), PDM/PLM systems, and experience with equipment design, including framing, sheet metal, machine parts, and piping
3. Knowledge of facilities systems such as piping, gas systems, and compressed air, and experience designing manufacturing facilities (layout, material flow, automation)
4. Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and system integration
5. Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience working in fast-paced, collaborative environments

Salary range: $110,000 - $150,000 annually. Compensation may vary based on experience and qualifications. The position is eligible for company shares.
