Job summary

Universal Logistics is seeking a seasoned warehouse leader in Lake Orion, Michigan to oversee all warehouse, inventory and material flow operations, ensuring material availability to meet production schedules for GM.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience in warehousing, distribution, manufacturing, automotive, or supply chain operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehouse management, and material flow processes.
• Experience leading large teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all warehouse, inventory, and material flow operations within the facility.
• Ensure material availability to meet customer production requirements.
• Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counting, auditing, and process compliance.
• Lead warehouse supervisors and hourly associates to achieve operational objectives.
• Monitor KPIs related to inventory, productivity, quality, safety, and customer service.
• Develop and implement process improvements focused on efficiency, cost reduction, and operational performance.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound material movement to support customer schedules.
• Prepare and present operational reports to senior leadership.
• Support budget management, cost controls, and financial performance objectives.
• Partner with customer representatives to resolve operational issues and maintain strong relationships.
• Conduct employee coaching, training, performance management, and succession planning.
