Job summary

Universal Logistics in Memphis, TN is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead cross-dock operations, inventory control and workflow. You will drive strategic planning and process improvements to optimize efficiency and accuracy across the site.

The role requires managing a team of 3 supervisors and 60+ associates, maintaining quality and safety compliance, and daily customer interaction to ensure satisfaction. This position emphasizes leadership and proactive problem solving.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of management experience in warehousing, distribution or transportation.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Problem solving and analytical skills, as well as a strong attention to detail
• Strong work ethic, ability to multitask

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Management of cross-dock Operations, Inventory and Workflow

Strategic Planning, Process Improvement and Problem Solving

Quality and safety compliance management involving company policies and procedures

Interacting with the customer on a daily basis, and ensuring customer satisfaction

Managing 3 Supervisors and 60+ Associates

Other tasks delegated by the customer and/or Facility Manager

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

2+ years management experience in a warehousing, distribution or transportation environment

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred

Effective oral and written communication skills

Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office

Problem solving and analytical skills, as well as a strong attention to detail
