Job Title and Reporting: Sr. Marketing Manager, reporting to the Sr. Director of Marketing
Annual Base Salary: Starting at $90,000 DOE/Bonus Eligible
FLSA Status: Salaried/Exempt/Full-time
Location(s): Phoenix, Arizona (Hybrid)
Position Overview. As the Sr. Marketing Manager, you are responsible for leading and executing local and national marketing strategies that drive sales, elevate brand visibility, and enhance community engagement across all Black Rock Coffee Bar locations. This position manages key programs such as LSM, NSOs, and national campaign rollouts. You will serve as a cross-functional leader and project owner, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure on-brand, timely, and effective execution. In this role, you will also oversee field marketing efforts and print/menu systems while contributing to annual planning and reporting processes. Success in this role requires strategic thinking, strong communication, and a proactive approach to execution.
Responsibilities
Services and Duties. As the Sr. Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for owning and leading the planning and execution of integrated marketing programs that support business growth at both the local and national level. Your essential duties and key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develops strong cross-functional relationships and is respected as a leader and subject matter expert internally and externally
- Influences decisions and drives alignment across teams to ensure mutual business success
- Takes initiative to stay ahead of project needs, decisions, and communication flow
- Demonstrates agility by quickly pivoting self and team in response to leadership direction
- Develops and oversees localized marketing programs to drive traffic and community engagement
- Partners with operations and store leaders to tailor campaigns to specific markets
- Analyzes performance data and adjusts strategy accordingly
- Manages and supports two Field Marketers in growing sales and brand awareness
- Leads marketing strategies for new store launches, including pre-launch, activation, and post-launch phases
- Collaborates with Field Marketing, Real Estate, Operations, and Creative to ensure timely execution
- Manages timelines, deliverables, and budgets for store opening campaigns
- Owns the end-to-end execution of national campaigns and seasonal promotions
- Serves as project lead, coordinating efforts across internal departments and external partners
- Ensures campaigns are delivered on time, aligned with brand voice, and meet business objectives
- Oversees execution of national internal contests that support business goals
- Manages the lifecycle of printed marketing materials, including signage, promotional assets, merchandise, and menu boards
- Oversees print vendors, negotiating pricing, timelines, and deliverables
- Maintains consistency and accuracy across systemwide menu content and in-store visuals
- Acts as a liaison between Marketing, Operations, Creative, and external vendors
- Provides regular updates and performance reporting to leadership
- Contributes to the annual planning and marketing budget process

Required
Work Environment. This position operates primarily in an office environment (onsite or remote) with approximately 15% travel required to attend meetings, events, and engagements with internal and external stakeholders. The essential duties of this role require the ability to perform the following physical tasks:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for meetings, presentations, and correspondence
- Ability to attend, lead, and actively participate in meetings, events, and presentations
- Mobility to navigate office spaces and external worksites as necessary
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and complete essential job functions
- Visual acuity to review and analyze reports, documents, and data
- Auditory ability to engage in discussions and meetings effectively
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 15 pounds
- Travel required, including via aircraft and motor vehicle, to support business needs
Skills
Skills and Competencies. To excel in this role, you should bring a combination of technical expertise and interpersonal abilities, including the following essential skills and competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
- 6-8 years of marketing experience, preferably within the food & beverage or hospitality industry
- Proven success in multi-unit or franchise marketing, with experience leading both LSM and national campaigns
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
- Experience working with print vendors, including oversight of production timelines and budgets
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities
- Proficiency in project management, communication, and marketing tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, Monday, Slack, Adobe Suite)
- Experience in QSR, fast casual, or boutique food & beverage brands
- Familiarity with menu management systems and digital menu boards
- Passion for coffee and community-driven brands
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on documentation and communication
- Highly process-oriented, with a strong eye for data integrity and operational excellence
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively across teams
