This position will have responsibility for Manufacturing Engineering functions in various areas of West Machining.

  • Develop & improve machining and assembly manufacturing processes
  • Create job aids and work instructions

  • Complete Part & Process SPAP / PPAP
  • Create and maintain routings / BOMs
  • Process engineering changes

  • Use industrial engineering tools to eliminate waste
  • Use & train on LN system
  • Support quality gate audits
  • Lead safety investigations and perform DMAIC process
  • Determine processing needs for fixtures, tooling, and methods
  • Improve processes, reduce costs, and eliminate non-value activities
  • Implement corporate initiatives like 5S, Lean Manufacturing
  • Monitor and improve safety on the shop floor
  • Assess and identify training needs
  • Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement
  • CNC/PLC programming awareness (machining only)
  • Use Team Center Mfg / NX
Education / Training
  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent manufacturing experience (4-year degree preferred)
  • Minimum 10 years in large manufacturing environment
Qualifications and Experience
  • Strong PC/data entry skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to present to teams and leaders
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to read specifications and standards
  • CNC programming and tool design experience preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Work in a noisy, vibrating environment with chemicals
  • Work near moving parts, cranes, and trucks
  • Stand, handle objects, reach, climb ladders, lift up to 35 lbs, walk
  • Wear safety shoes and glasses
